My Chilean Friends, by Alex

Our stay in Los Quenes was a great start to the trip, but what made it amazing was the Chilean friends I made. Tomas who is my age (17) is the son of the owner of the campground and his cousin, Valeria, walked us all around town and were very welcoming. I was able to talk to them in Spanish while we walked! It was really fun to talk to more people in Spanish and it as amazing to be able to communicate with people in another language. We joked and talked about each others cultures and customs, and it was my first real experience with locals. Although it was sad to leave my new friends, I know we will keep in touch.
