Semester XVIII: Student Passions and Hopes
On Saturday, January 23rd, 2021, Alzar School will officially launch Semester Eighteen. A cohort of forty-two students, coming from households across the country, will join ranks as Alzar School young leaders under one common goal: to experience something more out of a high school semester.
We know each student will bring something unique to our community. We have yet to learn all of the characteristics and personalities of the incoming students and how they will coalesce with one another. However, we do know some of the passions and hopes they will bring to the semester.
Spring 2021 students are passionate about:
- Aerospace engineering
- Nature and environmental sustainability

- Uplifting and motivating people

- Sports (soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, crew, basketball, skiing, tennis, football, hockey, karate, cross country running, ballet, water polo, and kayaking to name a few)

- Travel
- Fly fishing
- Robotics
- Student Government
Spring 2021 students hope to:
- Practice leadership skills and learn by applying myself, acting as a follower, and making mistakes.
- Explore my true identity, push myself further than my limits, and discover what the world has to offer.
- Do something different and learn in a new and exciting way.
- Build self-esteem and self-confidence.
- Meet people from all over the country and world.
- Become more confident in my ability to overcome challenges.
- Hike and study with kids from completely different backgrounds who love the outdoors.
- Get out of my comfort zone and try new things.
- Blend a rigorous and rewarding academic program with a campus immersed in nature.
- Explore the person I am and the person I want to become.
It is with resounding anticipation that we await the arrival of these motivated, passionate and hopeful new students. Semester Eighteen, the world awaits at Alzar School!
