John grew up exploring second growth forests and swimming eutrophic lakes near his home in rural Connecticut. A love for expansive forests brought him north to Maine for college, where opportunities to learn and travel carried thim south to Latin America. Since graduation, John has taught field science at the Teton Science School, environmental studies for HMI Gap, and river shenanigans with NOLS. John wore many hats at Alzar School from Semester IX to Semester XIII, and is excited to be back in Valley County in the role of Humanities Faculty. In his free time, you can find John woodworking, rambling through mountains, or attempting to convince anyone that will listen that the completo is the ultimate food.
