Announcing the new Kelly’s Leader Scholarship Program
The Alzar School is excited to announce the launch of “Kelly’s Leader,” a scholarship program for local teenagers to support their attendance at the Alzar School. Through this program, motivated Valley County teenagers who want to build their skills as community leaders will have the chance to spend one semester of their academic careers at the Alzar School, taking a full load of rigorous academic classes with some of the best students from around the country. As Kelly’s sponsored scholar-athletes, these local teens will share their beautiful county, as well as go on expeditions around Idaho. They will also spend more than 5 weeks exploring Chile and being immersed in the culture there. One student each academic year will be selected as the recipient of this full scholarship, which covers tuition, room and board. The Alzar School thanks Kelly’s Whitewater Park for providing the financial support to make this possible.
The prestigious Kelly’s Leader scholarship is open to Valley County students going into the 10th or 11th grades. Interested students should apply to the Alzar School for admission (https://alzar.org/apply-
Valley County students have been a part of every semester at the Alzar School since it opened its doors in Cascade for the Fall 2012 semester. Their Culminating Leadership Projects (which are a 100-hour service project in the local community) have included nordic ski lessons for elementary school students, bike maintenance clinics for middle school students, tutoring sessions at Cascade High School, free art clinics, and a weekend leadership training seminar.
