High School Semesters

Experience a semester like no other

Alzar School is high school re-imagined.  Academic coursework is integrated into the experiences of the semester, taking you from Idaho to Chile and back. Students will develop leadership skills as they paddle rivers and explore wild places. If you are looking for something different, if you are looking for something more from your high school experience, this semester is for you.  We are currently accepting applications the Spring 2021 semester on a rolling basis.  The application for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters is coming soon.

Gap Programs

Alzar Gap provides transformative experiences for high school graduates.  Our gap programs range from 30 to 90 days, with different locations and foci depending on your timeline and interests.  We are currently accepting applications for gap programs that start in January 2022.

steps to apply

Applying for one of our programs is straightforward and all online.  Follow these steps and don’t hesitate to contact us with questions:

  • Click the high school semester application link button or the gap program application link button to be redirected to the appropriate initial application, where you will enter your basic contact information to create an account in our MySchoolApp platform.
  • You will receive an email from admissions@alzarschool.org with your log in information, so be sure to keep an eye out so you can log in and continue your application.
  • You will gain access to our Application Checklist, which includes:
    • Essay Application Form
    • References
    • An online Zoom interview with an admissions representative
  • Alzar School also accepts the SSAT (preferred assessment) for standardized testing results to demonstrate academic preparedness for our semester program.

Applications for the Spring 2021 semester are currently being accepted on a rolling basis. Alzar School is for motivated students who want to make a difference in the world.  To see if you meet our Student Criteria for Eligibility, please read this document. COVID-19 Considerations

The health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff is always the highest priority at Alzar School. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation, we want to communicate our continued enthusiasm for young leaders applying for Alzar School and recognize the challenging nature of this historic time.  We are are currently operating in-person and are still accepting applications for the Spring 2021 semester.  We have developed operating plans for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 that adjust how our semesters run, but still allow for the powerful learning we are proud of.  Please see this overview of the operating plan for Spring 2021. Decisions about programming will be made with the intent of managing risk based on guidelines from international, national, and regional sources.  As always, all of our programming will strive for facilitating the best experience possible for students.  Please reach out to us (admissions@alzarschool.org) for any additional information or support.

Our team is on the virtual road

From October through March, the Alzar School Admission Team will be out on the virtual road visiting schools across the country to meet more terrific young leaders and share our Alzar School mission with fellow educators. In addition to making school visits, Alzar School hosts informational evening functions with alumni families.
