Camp Cup 2021
We are excited to be bringing the Camp Cup fun back this summer. With COVID-19 significantly impacting how camps operate, we are planning for the event to look a little different this year. Our goal is to provide as much of the fun as we can, acknowledging that bringing a large group together at one time is unlikely to fit within your practices for the summer. We also understand that not every camp may participate this summer (and we will continue to invite you for future summers!).
Instead of a large group gathering, we are going to provide camps with the opportunity to sign up for sessions on the water/at the event site. Instead of one training day, both days will be event days, so your camp can come on either Monday or Tuesday (if enough camps are interested, we are looking at adding Wednesday too). We will have the option for one group to be in the slalom gates and one group in the downriver race zone (cement beach to upper commercial take-out) at a time. Each camp is expected to provide their own on-the-water safety/instruction. Please do not occupy those areas unless it is your designated slot.
At our normal event site (by the slalom gates), we will have our booth where campers/counselors can pick up their traditional event packets, t-shirts, goodies, and lunch/treats. We will have fun games there, where your camp can stay as one tight unit.
Endless Rivers, NOC, American Canoe Association, Alzar School and others are on board as event sponsors. We ask that participating camps contribute $5/person (camper and counselor) to help with the event costs. Only camps that pre-register will be able to attend. We will send forms to be signed in advance of arrival.
As you select your session times, PLEASE SIGN UP FOR 2 OR FEWER SLOTS. And, PLEASE INDICATE YOUR CAMP’S NAME WITH YOUR NAME, so we can plan for which camps will be arriving.
