Information on Open Positions

The administrator team at Alzar School guides our faculty and staff in offering exceptional programming.  These positions are generally for mid-career or highly experienced professionals and many years we do not have any openings.

The admissions team at Alzar connects and informs students and families around the world. Each year our team connects with hundreds of high schools across the US and Chile in-person and throughout the online application process. Information on Teacher Positions

Alzar School teachers motivate, inspire, and educate our students both in and out of the classroom. They are passionate individuals who are excited to share their knowledge of content areas, enthusiasm for the outdoors, and curiosity for cultural learning. Information on Community & Experiential Advisor (CEA) Positions

Community and Experiential Advisors (CEAs) are primarily responsible for supervising students within Alzar School’s residential life program. This includes the coordination of student meals, the facilitation of a variety of student activities, instruction of Alzar School’s residential life curriculum, monitoring of academic study halls, and leading our various outdoor expeditions. Moreover, these staff members play a critical role upholding community norms and standards, as well as maintaining a safe learning and living environment at the school.  Learn more here.

Interested candidates can apply online here for the 2025-2026 school year. Applications received prior to February 1, 2025 will receive timely consideration for open positions in the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Teacher and CEA Hiring Timeline

All interested candidates are encouraged to apply, as each applicant pool is unique.  We accept applications on a rolling basis year-round, but applications received prior to February 1, for open positions the upcoming school year, will receive timely consideration.  Our hiring team will review applications throughout February-March and be in touch with applicants at that time.  In general, the school year spans from the beginning of August into the first week of June. New hires typically complete 3 weeks of training in Alzar School academic, outdoor, leadership and residential life institutes. This occurs in July, prior to all-staff training in August. Students arrive for the fall semester in mid-August.

Salary and Benefits

Both the teacher and CEA positions are paid positions that include health and other benefits.  We offer contracts to new teacher hires with the expectation of a two-year minimum commitment, while the CEA position is designed as a one-year position. Salary is based on the position, as well as applicant experience and qualifications.

Seasonal Opportunities

Information on Gap Instructor Positions

Alzar Gap provides high school graduates with life-changing experiences while offering tangible leadership training in world-class destinations.  Alzar Gap currently offers three different programs that range from 35 to 90 days in both North and South America.  Our students are highly motivated high school graduates, who want to make a difference in the world. Teaching Fellowship

Previously, Alzar School offered a teaching fellowship position for recent college graduates looking to be introduced to the teaching profession.
