In Chile there are fifteen different regions. The region located in Southern Chile is known as Los Lagos Region, or the Lake Region. Los Lagos Region “stretches 339km from Temuco in the north to Puerto Montt in the south” (Rough Guides LTD, 2013). The surrounding “Andes lose altitude but more than make up for it in beauty, sprouting magnificent white-capped volcanoes” (FrommerMediaLLC, 2013). Along with the numerous volcanoes, this region is also defined by its many lakes in the Andean foothills. Sporting twelve major lakes and ten major cities overall, Los Lagos Region is an attraction site for tourist from all over the world. Pucón, a large tourism city, is known for its countless tourists and numerous white-water rivers.
