Winter is finally here!

Hey everybody!

It has been a few weeks since I last updated the blog and a lot has happened.

Last week I returned from an eventful weekend in Salt Lake City at the Winter Outdoor Retailer (OR) convention. For those of you wondering what OR is, think of all the outdoor retail companies you’re familiar with (North Face, Patagonia, Petzl, Columbia), and put them all in a giant room where they share their product and mission with each other. Alzar was fortunate to be in that giant room this year sharing the Alzar mission and philosophy with the companies present.

Sean and Kristin returned to the states this last weekend from a successful course in Chile. They were greeted with a wonderful surprise upon entering Cascade. Snow! Yes, the snow has finally begun to fall, and the skiing has been great so far. I spent this morning snowboarding at Brundage Mountain (one of two resorts within a 1 hour drive from Alzar). It was a beautiful day… the sun was out and snow was soft. Below are a few pictures taken today from the top of Brundage’s Blue Bird high speed chair lift.

There have been a few snow storms in the past few weeks, but that couldn’t stop the roof, windows, and 16 foot garage doors from being put into place.
