Taxonomy of Life

Alzar School | 27.02.13

Biology class just finished their summative assessment regarding the Theory of Evolution. They all have a great grasp on the well accepted theory, and I am really proud of their efforts of asking big challenging questions about the theory. It turns out, most of their questions match those posed by countless other biologists.

Our next units will consist of biological taxonomy. The class will start simple and work towards more complex organisms. Just recently students used their Ipads and a particular application for a short formative assessment. They used Educreations to create a Khan Academy style lesson. They were asked to identify and explain the different parts of the prokaryotic cell. Below is the image they used. Do you know the 7 main parts of the simple cell. Alzar students do!

Did you know you have 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 on and in your body?!
